There are always two to three ornaments scattered on the floor in the morning. I originally blamed our newest cat, one-year-old Misty, but then I caught our oldest cat, Eddie, attacking one of the ornaments my son manufactured in kindergarten. I can only imagine what the cats are up to once all of the humans have gone to bed for the night.

While our seven-year-old cat, Eddie, is now happy to just take naps under the tree, my concern lies with our one-year-old foster fail, Misty. She already gets into enough trouble without the shiny holiday baubles strewn about the house, and we like to say she is “Mist-chevious.” Although I don’t believe she will send our tree down in flames like the troublemakers depicted here, I do believe she will instigate some sort of “cat-tastrophe” and an ornament or two will be lost in the aftermath.

]]><![CDATA[Save the Turkeys!]]>https://furrytales.substack.com/p/save-the-turkeyshttps://furrytales.substack.com/p/save-the-turkeysThu, 28 Nov 2024 14:23:52 GMTWhen my son was in kindergarten, both his teacher and I read Dav Pilkey's 'Twas the Night Before Thanskgiving to him. This led to a plea for no turkey in our Thanksgiving dinner. Fish was deemed okay to consume by our then five-year-old, and we had salmon along with the traditional Thanksgiving fixings of stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc., . It is still one of our favorite (and easiest) holiday meals to date.

This little turkey was inspired by that specific holiday and Pilkey’s book‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving!
